Freerock GNOME -
a GNOME distribution for Slackware Linux
Freerock GNOME is a complete GNOME Desktop distribution designed and packaged specifically for Slackware Linux. Freerock GNOME installs cleanly and non-intrusively by utilizing the standard Slackware software package format (".tgz"). Freerock GNOME integrates seamlessly and easily into Slackware Linux version 10.1.

- The latest stable version of Freerock GNOME is 0.2.3 (consists of GNOME 2.10.2).
- The lastest version of the GSB source is 0.1.92 (builds GNOME 2.10.2).

Freerock GNOME 2.12.0 "We are not just x86 anymore"

GNOME 2.12.0 packages are available for Slackware 10.2, Slamd64 10.2 and Slackintosh.
Jason Woodward has ported GSB to slamd64 and has packages available for slamd64-10.2. Instructions for downloading those packages are available on the ports page. These packages are considered stable.
2.12.0 packages are available for x86 slackware-10.2 for testing in frg-current. Packages are stable but need some more testing with respect to hal issues that have come up.
A big thanks goes out to Jason Woodward and Thorsten Johannvorderbrueggen for their work getting GSB to work with x86_64 and powerpc respectively.

The lastest stable release of Freerock GNOME is now available on sourceforge and the mirrors. We would like to thank everyone for helping making this another great stable release. Please see the downloads page for info.
There is another release of GSB available. Version 0.1.92 builds GNOME 2.10.2
